Job Description

Working alongside the Project Manager, to translate business objectives into a project scope, and subsequently defining technical requirements. Demonstrable experience in the production of technical design documentation, working within a multi-disciplined, multi-supplier environment, planning, and delivering quality results within agreed timescales.

The Business Architect is required to work with Senior Stakeholders in our client organisations to:

  • Understand the as-is position regarding the organisations Business Operating Model (organisational structure, business capabilities, customers, business processes and user journeys) and the issues and opportunities this presents.   
  • Document and define the as-is position in a format agreed with the client.   
  • Understand the organisations goals and future strategy, and propose improvements and changes in the form of a target business operating model that delivers improvements, address issues, and supports the transformation of the business to deliver its future business strategy.   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organising and running workshops for senior business and IT leaders
  • Documenting risks and issues, and opportunities
  • Defining a problem domain
  • Organisational Design
  • Drafting Options and Recommendations papers
  • Defining Business Cases and Project Initiation Documents

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience of producing holistic business designs, and business change / transformation programmes.  
  • And understanding of business supply chains and the pros and cons of outsourcing vs. delivery in-house.  
  • Demonstrable experience in the production of technical design documentation, working within a multi-disciplined environment, planning, and delivering quality results within agreed timescales.  
  • Good knowledge of a broad range of complex enterprises, and the issues they face.  
  • Experience across full project lifecycle, from initiation to decommissioning.   
  • Ability to model current and target states, define migration methods and decompose these into low-level tasks, for assignment to business change teams.  
  • Experience of Business Architecture Frameworks   
  • Strong experience of documentation creation and management.  
  • The role of IT systems with a business operating model and automation.   
  • TOGAF certification or similar (highly desirable)
