Job Description
Our Service Asset Managers are typically responsible for the delivery of one or more services for our clients and will ensure that good communications and levels of understanding are maintained with the client through regular and ad hoc meetings.
The candidate will be required to meet the contracted service levels and deliver the service using ISO/ITIL aligned processes and procedures, within the framework of the Netcompany Quality system and any security aspects.
Role requirements/responsibilities
- Ensure that assets under the control of the IT organisation are identified, controlled and properly cared for throughout their lifecycle.
- Identify, control, record, report, audit and verify services and other configuration items (CIs), including versions, baselines, constituent components, their attributes and relationships.
- Account for, manage and protect the integrity of CIs through the service lifecycle by working with change management to ensure that only authorized components are used and only authorized changes are made.
- Ensure the integrity of CIs and configurations required to control the services by establishing and maintaining an accurate and complete configuration management system (CMS).
- Maintain accurate configuration information on the historical, planned and current state of services and other CIs.
- Support efficient and effective service management processes by providing accurate configuration information to enable people to make decisions at the right time – for example to authorize changes and releases, or to resolve incidents and problems.
- Ensure relationships between CIs are defined, stored and maintained to support such things as Incident investigation, Problem Management and Root Cause Analysis.
- Work within the toolsets used internally by Netcompany and by our clients to ensure that assets are accurate, secure and available to support service management and business processes.
- Advise service designers to ensure Asset and Configuration Management requirements are delivered by new and amended services.
- Maintain alignment to Joiners', Movers' and Leavers' processes to ensure that assets are assigned and harvested in line the needs of these processes.
- During business-as-usual periods the candidate will be expected to actively initiate and pursue service improvement tasks
Qualifications
Experience Required:
- Demonstratable experience in building and managing an IT Asset Register.
- Experience of Hardware and Software Asset Management.
- Have designed, written and implemented policies, processes, procedures and relevant local working instructions for IT Asset Management.
- Can show how both IT Asset Management and Service Configuration Management interfaces with other service management processes for example, IT Service Continuity and Portfolio Management.
- Demonstrate a working relationship with the business in obtaining and translating business needs into IT Asset Management.
- Proven track record for managing IT asset lifecycle, through planning, procurement, deployment, service, decommission and retirement.
- Experience with IT assets contracts and warranties.
- Managing and tracking software licensing.
- Have experience delivering IT Asset Management within an ITIL best practice framework.
- Self-motivation, flexibility, initiative and integrity are required to ensure that our clients and the Netcompany management have a high degree of confidence in the candidate's ability to efficiently deliver the services with minimal intervention.
- Good oral and written communication skills are essential to ensure all parties associated with the service maintain a clear understanding of the status of the service and associated tasks at all times.
- Be able to produce clear and concise written information.
Desired:
- Hold relevant ITIL qualifications.
- Experience of supporting solutions in a multi-provider environment would be advantageous.
- SC Clearance or eligible for clearance.
- National Cyber Security Centre awareness.
- ISO 19770 awareness.
- Experience with delivering Monitoring and Event Management capabilities.
- MS SCCM, Snow Licencing, MS InTune foundation certifications.
- Knowledge of API’s, graph connectors and integrations.
- 4 years relevant ITAM/Service Configuration experience.
- Experience with managing CIs, their classes, and their relationships within a CMDB (Configuration Management)
- Experience with building working relationships with the business in obtaining and translating business needs into outcomes.
- Experience with deploying and running IT Network Discovery.
- Experience with deploying and running Service Mapping.
