Netcompany chosen as IT-partner in the delivery of Norway’s corona certificate

A version of the Norwegian corona certificate is planned for release by the end of June, and now, NIPH (Norwegian Institute of Public Health) has chosen Netcompany as the public authorities’ partner in the development.

We are very pleased to have been designated as the authorities’ partner to support the development of a Norwegian corona certificate. Netcompany has experience from similar projects in both Denmark and the United Kingdom, which gives us a really good starting point for assisting in the development of a solution in Norway. We are confident that we will quickly and safely contribute to establishing a Norwegian corona certificate that can be important in the reopening of Norwegian society", says Norwegian Country Managing Partner in Netcompany, Geir Arne Olsen

The Norwegian Directorate of Health is heading the project in collaboration with The Norwegian Institute of Public Health, the Norwegian Health Network and the Directorate of eHealth.

"The project starts immediately. We look forward to contributing with our knowledge and our suggestions for solutions, also based on our experiences from Denmark and Great Britain", says Geir Arne Olsen

In its reasoning of awarding Netcompany with the project, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health writes:

"Netcompany Norway AS has delivered a consistently good tender with solid descriptions of and reflections on all the requirements set forth. In the award criterion quality, Netcompany Norway AS was ranked number one on all sub criteria, and as such, was ranked also number one in the main criterion quality. Netcompany Norway AS was also ranked number one on the award criterion price, consequently demonstrating the best relation between quality and price, and is therefore elected as winners of the competition."

The company behind the Smittestopp app

Netcompany is also behind the Norwegian track-and-trace app solution Smittestopp in addition to recently having been awarded a number of projects from various parts of the public sector.

"Solutions that digitise the public sector are at the heart of what we do. Instead of building cumbersome and limited solutions, we utilize building blocks and the experience we already have. This will also be the basis from which we approach this project, finding solutions together with the authorities on the path to a quick release of a Norwegian corona certificate", says Geir Arne Olsen.

Netcompany delivers innovative solutions to society

Netcompany has recently won several key projects for the public sector in Norway, including the development of the new version of the Smittestopp app. During last year, Netcompany also won a new contract with the Directorate for Integration and Diversity (IMDi) to develop a digital platform for managing the allocation and payment of applications for integration grants to Norwegian municipalities. Furthermore, Netcompany entered into agreements with The Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities (KS) and the municipalities of Trondheim, Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger, Kristiansand, Bærum, Asker and Lørenskog on the delivery of a joint solution for digital child welfare services.

In the autumn of 2020, Netcompany was chosen as the Norwegian Medicines Agency's digitisation partner in the development of a new digital platform to support the core work processes of the organisation.
