Netcompany UK continues investment in social value with Birmingham City Council

Netcompany UK is working with partners Social Value Business and Advice Cloud to commit to social values driven by society, the UK government and our customers.

The latest venture is with Birmingham City Council’s Preparation for Adulthood team of which Netcompany recently donated laptops.

While many of us take laptops for granted, not having access to one can make daily life a huge challenge. Access to a laptop for a young person means opportunities for digital inclusion and upskilling. On top of that, we are supporting upcycling and the circular economy, in an effort to become carbon neutral.

The laptops have been distributed to young people in Birmingham to help them gain employment, find housing, build relationships, and manage their health. To date, these laptops have helped nine young people find employment and apprenticeships.

‘The Coronavirus pandemic highlighted the digital exclusion many young people face across the UK and, without your donation, some of our young people would have struggled to access the support we provided virtually during the lockdowns.’ - John Z Williams, Assistant Director of Adult Social Care.
