About the role

Netcompany Operations is an established operating organization that is responsible for critical community- and business application operations for handling infrastructure in two modern datacentre and in public cloud. Intelligent solutions and exciting technologies are a priority in Netcompany Operations – and that is no exception in the network team.

 

As our new Network Engineer, you will be part of a network team who is also part of the infrastructure team. Daily you will work with operation and maintenance of Netcompany’s Cisco network as well as network administration, establishing, error diagnostics, and expansion of our client solutions. We have our own installations – both hosting environment and Enterprise environment – in the air and some network tasks will be at the client.

 

You need to be technical founded and curious, so you can offer something to the tasks in our hosting environment, Netcompany Enterprise LAN/WAN, and tasks at the client.

 

You will handle exciting and challenging task in all parts of the network among others LAN, WiFi and network in Netcompany’s modern datacentre. Our strategy aims on a Cisco infrastructure that spans from ACI over ASR, and ISR edge-routes to UCS server environment. In security we use both Cisco and Fortinet firewalls and work intensively with technologies such as IPS and DDos-protection.

 

Your primary tasks will be among others:

• Maintenance and expansion of our global administrative network (LAN).
• Network security, working with firewalls and relevant security technologies.
• Maintenance of network surveillance and log management via Orion and Splunk.
• Close cooperations with specialists within server, storage, and backup.

Qualifications

About you

We would prefer if you have a couple of years of experience from a similar role, where you have worked with network operations. Most importantly is that you want to solve tasks that range over routing, switching, WLC, security, and LAN, and want to develop you carrier.

Furthermore, we are imaging that you:

• Have a technical education for example as data technician, information technologist, computer scientist, or have experience with a similar position.
• Have the fundamental knowledge about Cisco network technologies on CCNA- and CCNP-level. An active certification would be positive.
• You are proactive, self-propelled, and are good at planning, structuring, and documenting your work.

It is a precondition for hiring, that you can achieve and sustain a security clearance via PET.

Independent and self-driven, you are ready to take responsibility from day one. You’re also a great team player, ready to go an extra mile for your colleagues. You like to be up to date with new technologies and knowledge-sharing is important for you. You are structured, able to organize your time and document your work.
